Location: The Most Important Decision

The zombie cage sits adjacent to the villager pod where villagers can see the zombie but the zombie cannot reach them.
If your zombie cell has any exposure to sunlight through the top, the zombie burns up and your farm stops panicking. Always roof the cage with solid blocks, not glass.
